J.C. is on an amazing journey with the release of her latest book BEAST COAST….her third release from The Wild Rose Press this year. She is a hot new author on the rise, and you can read more about her and her newest release here…

Sometimes the greatest danger comes from within…

Sometimes the greatest danger comes from within…

Blurb:

Sometimes the greatest danger comes from within…

When Master Vampire Lucien Delgatto threatens her potential mate Wick’s life, Shape Shifter Andrea “Andy” McNeilly will employ a den of witches, a bedazzled thong, and her ability to shift into multiple animals to meet his demands. She plans to keep Wick safe—even if she’s not speaking to him. Lucien’s unwelcomed control over Wick’s life has thrown Andy into a whirlwind of emotions.

Though Wick vows to do whatever it takes to earn Andy’s forgiveness and win back her trust, it may be too late. This recent conflict awakens something within Andy, an animal she’s never learned to control. For hidden beneath all her forms is a beast whose anger and brutality rivals none.

And she’s pissed.

I have the great pleasure of being J.C.’s critique partner…but all bias aside, I love Andy and the wonderful (and sexy) gang of supporting characters that exist in the Carus world. Here is an excerpt from BEAST COAST:

Letting my falcon drift close to the surface, my eyesight sharpened. A dark figure moved in the brambles near the deer path ahead of me. About to step closer, something tugged at my senses.

Come to me, a voice echoed in my head. I froze.

An overwhelming urge to walk into the forest on my right consumed my body. I hadn’t felt anything like this since…

Since I was fourteen, and walked into the forest to meet three feras.

Sweat beaded on my brow and the bridge of my nose. I wiped it away, while fighting the compulsion to move.

Come to me, Carus.

Leaning forward, I tried to locate the animal. A branch snapped, and my attention darted to where the sound originated from. The forest hummed with the sound of summer insects. My heart beat loud and heavy in my chest.

Underbrush rustled. There!

A flash of orange.

Pop! A sharp sting, much like a rubber band on bare skin, radiated across my right butt cheek. I yipped and jumped three feet in the air.

Whirling around, I found Wick with an ear-to-ear grin and his paintball gun resting over one of his shoulders. If he had a leg propped up on a recently deceased moose, he’d look like a hunter from a photo.

“Tagged you,” his whiskey voice crooned.

New release from Storm Grant: Lost Boys 2.0

Please join me in welcoming fellow Toronto Romance Writer, Storm Grant.
Storm’s latest M/M book, LOST BOYS 2.0 releases today.

3 BOO covers

Welcome Storm, please tell us a bit about yourself.

My tweetable bio with two, two, two personalities in one: Storm Grant pens long and short tales. Her work spans genders and genres, offering good guys and bad puns. Her alter ego, Gina X. Grant, writes funny urban fantasy. (I’ll give a little plug here for Gina’s Reaper series. Go Dante!)

Tell us a bit about your current release….or in your case, releases.

I brought out a book-a-week during September, and a new one in November. The first one was SHIFT HAPPENS. It was originally written as a standalone, but so many people asked for more books in the B.O.O. universe that I decided to carry on with the series. B.O.O. stands for Borderless Observers Org. which is an internationally sanctioned group of paranormal investigators. They show up wherever they’re needed to solve problems of the supernatural sort.

Book 2 of the B.O.O. series releases at the end of November. It’s called LOST BOYS 2.0 and features Peter Pan as the love interest. You can read more about it, here . You do not need to have read SHIFT HAPPENS to enjoy LOST BOYS 2.0.

I thought I was writing humor until USA Today gave it 5 stars, calling it “a mash-up of a detective novel, horror story and modern-day romance.” Huh. (Read the full review here. Did I mention 5 stars?) (Did you say 5 stars? Congratulations.)

And just yesterday I finished the very rough first draft of MYSTERICAL, Tales of B.O.O. #3. I’ve already got the cover. Don’t they look great together? (Yes, yes they do.)

How about a little personal info, such as…Do you have a process for coming up with character names and book titles?

I believe character names need to be evocative—not just “strong names for a strong character” but to actually mean something. Some of my character names are puns: The hero of the Reaper trilogy is named Kirsty d’Arc. (For ‘tis better to light a single candle than to sit and curse the dark.) She’s a feisty gal who makes lemonade out of life, or in her case, premature death. In my as-yet-unfinished novel, FIENDS (it has a better title, but I’m not sharing yet!), there’s a succubus named Randi. Er, um. (hee, hee, hee)

At risk of sounding immodest, I’m good at book titles. I’m known as “Title Queen” among my writerly pals and responsible for quite a few. But in the interest of full disclosure, it was my friend Bonnie Staring who came up with LOST BOYS 2.0. I’d originally titled it Black Market Shadows. (Yes, kudos to you. I changed one of my WIP, and love the title you suggested.)

And if my readers want to find you and your books?
Lost Boys 2.0 is available at all your favorite online booksellers, including: Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / Kobo / AllRomanceEbooks / Nook / iTunes .

I’ve mashed my two writing personas into one. You can find Storm Grant and Gina X. Grant all over the web, from Facebook to Goodreads. Here’s two: Website / Twitter
And of course… Click here to be notified when my next book is out!
(Note: Storm provided her Facebook too, but I could not get the link to work. She does exist on facebook, and you can search for her there.)

Thank you, Charlotte, for having me on your blog. And thanks to anyone who got this far, for reading!
Thanks for coming Storm/Gina. Best of luck with your B.O.O.ks
